Indiana Teacher Certification & Recertification

Professional Development Requirements for Indiana Teachers

There are currently several ways for Indiana teachers to renew their teaching certification. Please visit the Indiana Department of Education web site for more details and up-to-date information.

Renewal Information:
An initial practitioner license is valid for 2 years and teachers must renew if they do not have two years of fulltime teaching experience. If not, teachers may renew and obtain a 5-year practitioners license by completing 6 hours of course work, completing a 90 point PGP (personal growth plan), or by passing a Pearson IN Core Content Area Exam. Please visit the Indiana Department of Education for more details.
