Florida Teacher License Renewal & Certification Renewal Requirements
Florida teachers can utilize Model Teaching university-partnered courses to earn academic credit for their license renewal or salary advancement needs. All Model Teaching university-partnered courses provide graduate-level semester credit for license renewal or salary advancement purposes. You may choose any Model Teaching university-partnered courses of interest or enroll in one of our Course Bundle Packs – the most cost-effective way to earn credits.
Regionally-Accredited Semester Credits
Model Teaching offers great options for Florida teachers to earn semester credits from accredited universities, including the required content area of “Students with Disabilities (SWD)”.
The Florida Department of Education requires 6 semester hours of college credit to include at least 1 semester hour in teaching students with disabilities during each renewal period.
We recommend you take one of the below Model Teaching courses from any of our University Partners to satisfy the SWD requirement:

- Differention for Students with Disabilities (2 Credits)
The Florida Department of Education has guidelines concerning acceptable college credit equivalencies for Renewal, including guidelines for obtaining approval on the fldoe.org website.
Acceptable College Credit Equivalencies for Renewal that apply to Model Teaching Courses:
- College level credits used for certificate renewal must be awarded by an accredited or approved institution, or the American Council on Education (ACE), and must be reflected on an official transcript.
