Nevada Teacher License Renewal Requirements

Hundreds of Nevada teachers utilize Model Teaching courses every year to earn academic credits for license renewal. All Model Teaching professional development courses are pre-approved by the Nevada DOE. You may choose any Model Teaching course of interest or enroll in one of our Course Bundle Packs – the most cost-effective way to earn hours.

Model Teaching professional development courses are pre-approved by the Nevada DOE.  You may choose any course in our PD Menu!

Nevada teachers utilize Model Teaching courses every year to earn clock hours for license renewal. All Model Teaching regular Professional Development (PD, Clock Hour) courses are pre-approved by NV DOE to earn clock hours for license renewal. You may choose any Model Teaching courses of interest or enroll in one of our Course Bundle Packs – the most cost-effective way to earn your Nevada Clock Hours.

A Nevada standard teaching license is valid for 5 years To renew a standard teaching license, teachers must complete 90 clock hours or 6 semester credits of professional development during this time. You may use Model Teaching PD courses to earn your 90 clock hours.

ACCEPTED CREDITS:

Credits may be earned by course work provided through pre-approved providers such as Model Teaching or through a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association. 1 credit = 15 hours.

Model Teaching offers courses pre-approved by the state of Nevada and meet the requirements for Nevada teacher license renewal and Professional Development requirement hours according to the State of Nevada Department of Education. All courses completed will include a certificate of completion you may use for documentation of your earned clock-hours.

All Model Teaching courses are Nevada DOE-approved.  You can find us on the NV DOE approved providers list.

All Model Teaching courses are Nevada DOE-approved.  You may select from individual courses from our Course Menu or select one of our cost-effective bundle packages, including our Build Your Own Course Bundle Pack (See Below).  For Nevada license renewal, you do NOT need to take our academic-partnered graduate-level courses, only our regular PD courses.

Salary Advancement Information for Teachers

Model Teaching partners with regionally-accredited universities across the country to provide graduate-level courses to thousands of K-12 teachers and educators every year. Generally, school districts across the country provide various salary scale advancement opportunities to teachers that often includes participation in graduate-level professional development. Our university-partnered, graduate-level courses are an excellent and cost-effective way for you to earn the continuing education academic credit you need.

All Model Teaching university partners are regionally-accredited universities who offer our courses in partnership for graduate-level, academic and/or post-bachelorette credit.  Most states and school districts allow teachers to earn this type of credit as part of advancing in the salary scale.  Please check with your district’s policies regarding continuing education for salary advancement prior to enrolling.

Yes, all university-partnered graduate-level courses will include access to an official transcript from the university.

These graduate-level courses are primarily designed for salary advancement and/or certificate re-licensure.  It is the sole discretion of any university that issues the Masters Degree weather or not they may accept these credits to apply to a degree program.
