(1 Graduate Semester Credit) This course provides an introductory look at how to actively monitor students throughout the instructional process and how to analyze data collected in order to better support students. You will learn how to determine the purpose of monitoring students through whole group, small group, collaborative, and independent learning activities and will analyze multiple data collection methods for classroom use. Finally, you will learn how to collect data, analyze the data for trends, and regroup students to help better teach mastery of core concepts. At the end of you will build a data collection lesson plan, ready for immediate use in their classroom. You will apply these ideas to an implementation process through an action plan design, resource development and analysis of research to view applicability in the classroom. A final implementation plan will allow you to showcase how you plan to specifically implement course ideas into a current or future classroom.
