Backwards Design is a curriculum planning strategy that begins with choosing an objective and assessment strategy before planning any lessons or instructional activities. The Backwards Design strategy helps teachers to be more intentional and focused on the goals of their instruction and overall, helps to improve student outcomes. This training is the second in a series of three that will go through the three stages of planning using the backwards design method. In this course we will be looking at the second stage of this process -assessments, with a focus on helping teachers choose the right assessments for their students.
Planning for Instructional Strategies & Learning Activities
In this course, participants will learn the importance of aligning your instructional strategies and activities with your learning objectives and plans for assessments. The course will cover the five main instructional strategies, as well as how to choose the most effective strategies and activities that benefit all types of learners.
