Professional Development Guidelines For Texas Teachers
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires teachers who hold a standard teaching certificate to renew every five years by completing 150 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) clock hours from an approved CPE provider. Action Potential Learning is an approved CPE provider in the state of Texas (CPE# 902-391), and all courses completed come with a certificate of completion documenting your earned hours, our TEA-approved CPE number, as well as documentation of the skills mastered. We also provide micro-credential badges for specific key teaching skills acquired throughout each of our courses, documenting competencies achieved in addition to the main goals of the course.

Approval Request Form
If you live in a State other than Texas, please download and submit this Request For Approval form to your certificate-granting agency in order to verify that Model Teaching and Action Potential Learning's courses qualify for your state or school district's continuing education requirements.
Action Potential Learning is an approved CEP provider by TEA, and all Action Potential Learning courses provide a certificate of completion to teachers or educators who have successfully completed their coursework. Please present this completion certificate to TEA as part of your teacher certification renewal. Each course certificate comes complete with:
- The provider’s name (Action Potential Learning, LLC)
- Our TEA-approved CPE number (902-391)
- The course completion date
- Micro-credentials earned, documenting core skills mastered
- The name and course topic
- The number of clock hours completed
Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires renewal of teacher’s teaching certificate every 5 years. Teachers are required to complete 150 CPE hours in order to maintain certification. Administrators and educators holding a professional certificate must complete 200 CPE hours to renew.
CPE hours include activities such as: courses offered through an approved provider, workshops, conferences, college-level coursework, and online course through an approved provider.
