Teachers with standard certification in Mississippi hold a five-year renewable certificate. These licenses must be renewed every five years with Continuing Education Units (CEUs), college coursework, or by completion of the National Board process earned during the renewal cycle of the license.

CEUs must be obtained through an accredited CEU granting agency. Any Continuing Education Office at a college, university, or community/junior college is an accredited CEU granting agency.

Model Teaching offers courses provided through regionally accredited university partners. These institutions are accredited by several accrediting agencies. These Academic Credit University-Partnered Courses are applicable to fulfill Mississippi teacher license renewal and Professional Development requirement hours according to The Mississippi Department of Education.  Model Teaching offers high-quality Non-University Partnered Professional Development Courses as well, relevant to most teaching license subject areas. All courses completed through our academic partners will include access to an official transcript from that academic institution for submission to any license-granting authority.  All Non-University Partnered PD courses will include a certificate of completion from Model Teaching.
