Model Teaching offers great options for Oklahoma teachers to earn semester credits from accredited universities for license renewal or salary advancement, if required.

Oklahoma teachers must renew their Standard Teaching Certificate every 5 years. Teachers in Oklahoma must complete 75 clock hours of professional development during that 5 year period and submit a Summary of Professional Development Points for Certification Renewal form to the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Model Teaching offers professional development courses as well as university-partnered, academic credit courses provided through regionally accredited university partners. Our courses may meet the requirements for Oklahoma teacher license renewal and Professional Development requirement hours. All courses completed through our academic partners will include access to an official transcript from that academic institution for submission to any license-granting authority.

To request approval of our Non-university partnered PD and University-Partnered Academic Credit Courses, we recommend you request approval using our Request Course Approval form and submit to the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
