Convert Model Teaching PD Hours Courses into ISBE Clock Hours Through NEIU

This page will help you convert PD courses into ISBE credits with an ISBE certificate from NEIU.  Folow EVERY step of the process below to convert your courses.

*Note: There will be a required $25 per 15 ISBE, University Fee for converting PD Hours into ISBE Clock Hours.

  • Here’s How It Works:
  • Complete any professional development courses you wish from our PD course menu.
  • Download a copy of the MT-NEIU Tracker (below) and use it to keep track of how many PD Hours you have completed.  You will earn 15 ISBE Hours for every 15 Hours of PD course work completed.

    *NOTE: Use the same MT-NEIU Tracker to track your completed courses- save the spread sheet on your computer every time you add courses.

  • Once you have earned your desired number of ISBE hours, visit email this form to graduatecourses@modelteaching.com. Your instructor will assign your grade and ISBE hours earned and email this form back to you along with instructions on how to request and pay the $25 university fee per 15 hours for your ISBE hours.
  • You will use this same web page to pay for and process your ISBE hours conversion to receive your ISBE form and certificate.

You will need to pay an additional $25 per 15 ISBE hours converted. This is the university fee for NEIU to supply you with a signed ISBE certificate from NEIU.

NEIU Course Titles For Converted PD Courses Are as Follows:

  • Continuing Education in Advanced Teaching Strategies A (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Continuing Education in Advanced Teaching Strategies B (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Continuing Education in Advanced Teaching Strategies C (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Continuing Education in Advanced Teaching Strategies D (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Engaging Instructional Strategies for Diverse Students (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Instructional Strategies for English Language Learners (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Instructional Strategies for Science (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Instructional Strategies in the ELA Classroom (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Professionalism in Education (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Strategies for Using Technology in Instruction (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)
  • Teaching Students with Special Needs or Disabilities (15, 30, or 45 ISBE Hours)

You will earn 15 ISBE hours per 15 hours completed. Your instructor will assign your course names based on your MT-NEIU Tracker document and the PD courses you have completed.

You will receive a signed ISBE form and certificate from NEIU, our university partner, which is an approved ISBE provider in the state of Illinois.

Step 1: Track Your Completed Courses Using the MT-NEIU Tracker

Note: Save this tracker and update it as you complete courses. Use the same copy of the tracker to track all of your courses. It will automatically calculate your earned ISBE Hours as you complete your courses.

Once you have completed all your courses, you will email this tracker to: graduatecourses@modelteaching.com. Your instructor will confirm your completed courses and email the form back to you with instructions for the next steps.
