Course Description:

(45 ISBE Clock Hours) This course will define developmental theories and how they drive teaching and learning practices. Participants will learn about various psychosocial, behavioral, and cognitive developmental theories, and will understand why this knowledge is critical for educators. By the end of the course, participants will be able to plan lessons and learning activities grounded in development theory, manage their classrooms more effectively, and implement strategies to support social-emotional skills in their students.
