Financial literacy is the ability to use financial skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about money. It includes understanding how to budget, spend, save, and invest. During this Financial Literacy Month, Model Teaching has prepared a short article addressing the importance of financial literacy, especially for teachers and educators. We discuss some of the reasons why it's so important to teachers and why teachers may be very well positioned to do well financially, and provide some basics on financial literacy, financial intelligence, and some tools to help teachers get started on improving their financial health.
